Bar-Pin
| The Bar-Pin was developed and patented by New York Dept. of Transportation
personnel to secure parking meters to their posts. Made of stainless
steel, the Bar Pin is threaded for the parking meter bolt, and rounded at either
end to fit in a schedule 40, 2" i.d. pipe. When used in
conjunction with a sleeve over the pipe (to prevent the use of a pipe cutter),
the meter can then only be removed by unlocking the vault door and loosening the
bolt. For additional vault security, see SmartLock. |

 |
- More secure than conventional expansion wedges
- Easy to install
- Virtually indestructible

To install the Bar-Pin: A one-inch hole must be drilled all the way through
both walls of the pipe, 3-1/4" from the top of the pipe. Push the Bar-Pin
through the hole so that the threaded hole in the Bar-Pin is exactly vertical.
Place a sleeve over the pipe. Install parking meter with a 5" Grade 5 bolt
only (no wedges required). For best results, return to the meter after 24
hours and further tighten the bolt to compensate for bolt stretch. |
